Mates

Mates is a short story (very short story) involving two characters I developed for Drysdale, Flipper and Reggie. It has a dry humour to it.

There are mates and then there are mates!

I have entered it in the Australian Crime Writers Association short story competition, the Louie Awards. Maximum length was 500 words which is a challenge in itself and the theme had to be "locked".
LAST DRINKS

Last Drinks is a short story based on some of the experiences from our 2017 road trip to Uluru. What surprised me was the number of young female backpackers working in extremely remote parts of Australia. In particular a young English girl working behind the bar in Boulia at the end of the Plenty Highway in South West Queensland. We had a chat to her at dinner and she told us how difficult it was to have any personal space when everyone in town drank at the same bar. Some people that have read this story have found it confronting and I don't really apologise for that. It was the point.
